What is a PCC?

A parochial church council (PCC) is the executive committee of a Church of England parish and consists of clergy and churchwardens of the parish, together with representatives of the laity.

All PCCs are charities, and their members are Charity Trustees. Currently PCCs with incomes over £100,000 a year need to register with the Charity Commission. Smaller PCCs, like ours, are currently excepted from registering with the Charity Commission by statute which means that they do not have a Registered Charity number.

What does a PCC do?

The minister in charge of the parish and the PCC have a duty to consult together on matters of general concern and importance to the parish, and to co-operate in promoting in the parish the whole mission of the church: pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical.

THINKING OF SERVING ON OUR PCC

We welcome new members when a vacncy arises, typically in April at the APCM. If you consider this may be a way you would like to serve with us, please talk with Revd. Grant, or a current PCC member.
